PNW Mountains
BORN DEEP IN THE MOUNTAINS OF THE PNW

A Seattle native, I enjoy all the outdoor beauty the Pacific Northwest has to offer. On my adventures, I sketch all the plants and animals I see. I love to add humor and whimsy to my creations. I often draw animals doing silly human things.

AT HOME I MISS MY TIME IN THE WOODS

Looking to reconnect with the feeling of freedom I get when far away from city life, I flip through my sketchbook. Gazing upon my drawings, I'm instantly transported back to my happy place in the forest.

IN COLLEGE FOR GRAPHIC DESIGN

A classmate of mine was having a rough day. I remembered how my sketchbook cheered me up, and I shared it with her. Watching her smile when looking at my nature drawings made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. We started talking about the last time she went camping, and how amazing it was. People light up a certain way when they talk about their outdoor experiences. It's a special opportunity to really connect with someone.

LEARNING TO SCREEN PRINT

Wondering what to do for my first project, I thought about my classmate. I decided to print one of my funny animal sketches on to an old t-shirt I brought to practice on. I printed it a bunch of times, all over the shirt. The next day, I wore it to the class I had with her. I took off my coat, and she instantly started smiling. "I love it!" she exclaimed. That made my other classmates look too. I got so many positive reactions. I was a little embarrassed, but it also felt good. Really good.

REVIVAL INK BEGAN IN 2007

As my graduation project from Cornish College of the Arts. The goal was to create an eco friendly clothing company featuring shirts with art that remind people of nature. I began screen printing on vintage clothing, and that's how the name Revival Ink was born. I was literally "reviving" once loved, and discarded clothing with silkscreen ink. Making it beautiful again, and giving it a second life. I still do limited edition vintage clothing, but over the years, I've transitioned to printing my designs on organic fabrics and cottons.

THE ECO-FRIENDLY COMPONENT IS STILL KEY

I print with non-toxic water-based inks that are safe for nature and wildlife. I enjoy drawing, mixing my own ink colors, and pulling my prints by hand. I'm reviving the art of handmade, one print at a time.
