One of my favorite t-shirt printers is Slow Shirts, based right here in Washington. I have met the 2 artists who make the art, and hand print these shirts. They are very cool people, down to earth and friendly. I think they will be vending at the Seattle Fremont Sunday market with me when the weather gets warmer. The ski lift shirt below is one of my favorites. They are having a big sale right now in their Etsy shop, with hoodies marked down to only $25! I recommend getting one before they\’d5re gone.

Today\’d5s favorite Etsy item is the Forever Young Long Dress by Gaia Conceptions. This is the most beautiful, and comfortable dress I’ve seen in awhile. It\’d5s made from local organic cotton. If you don\’d5t know how soft organic cotton is compared to regular cotton, well you need to try it. Not only is it better for our environment, but the quality and softness of organic cotton and bamboo fabrics cannot be beat. Gaia Conceptions specializes in making clothing from the finest earth friendly fabrics, and natural dyes. To find out more about their process, check out their Etsy profile . I know they wouldn’t exactly fit in with the rest of my furniture, but I love these bookcases. If I had my own brick and mortar clothing store, I would definitely put these in it. Swedish designers Smansk showed a prototype of their Skew bookcase at the Greenhouse young designers showcase at the Stockholm Furniture Fair last month. The bookcase consists of identical modular components that are stacked facing alternate directions to create sloping shelves. Sloping shelves mean you do not have to arrange the shelves in various heights as with ordinary bookcases. There are room for binders at the high end of each shelve and pocket books at the low end. All parts of the bookcase are identical. To assemble it you just rotate the parts and place them on top of each other. The identical parts provides easy manufacturing as well. Smansk are currently seeking an appropriate manufacturer for the design.

Think again! Check out these awesome furniture designs from
Because We Can

My favorite is the conference table and chairs they made for Comic Debris. I would love to have this in my dining room. Check out their online store where you can order you own earth friendly furniture made from recycled and sustainable wood sources.

(The squirrel table pictured is my favorite in the store). All the furniture comes flat packed, and assembles without any tools. The furniture actually fits together like a very simple puzzle. How do they make these awesome functional works of art? By laying it out in Auto CAD, and transferring the files to their C&C router. The router cuts the wood following the information in the CAD file with great precision. Now that’s genius.

Check out this cool design from the Red Dot Design Awards. It’s a backpack cooler with style. Too bad it’s just a prototype for now. When they start making these, I’ll be first in line to get one.
